On October 23, Prime Minister Luca Niculescu announced the approval of 1.1 million vaccine doses from the EU's strategic reserves to combat diseases affecting sheep and goats. This initiative aims to support Romanian livestock farmers facing economic losses due to animal diseases. The donation, requested by Romanian authorities, includes 300,000 doses already delivered, with a national vaccination campaign organized by ANSVSA. Niculescu emphasized the importance of controlling disease outbreaks to protect livestock and facilitate the resumption of trade in live animals and animal products. The government will ensure swift implementation of these measures while adhering to veterinary health requirements.
