The Romanian government, led by Prime Minister Luca Niculescu, has approved the donation of 1.1 million vaccine doses from EU reserves to combat peste des petits ruminants and sheep and goat pox. The first 300,000 doses have already arrived in Romania, and a national vaccination campaign will be organized by ANSVSA. This initiative aims to support local farmers facing economic losses due to disease outbreaks and trade restrictions. Niculescu emphasized the need for rapid intervention to control outbreaks and restore safe trade conditions. Additionally, he urged ministers to expedite reforms under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) to secure EU funding.
