Iran is nearing depletion of its oil reserves stored on tankers due to a U.S. naval blockade, impacting its economy significantly. The blockade, in place since April, has severely limited Iran's oil revenues, primarily from sales to China. As of early October, less than one million barrels remained on tankers, a drastic drop from 135 million at the war's onset. The U.S. Central Command reported that Iran has lost $25 billion in oil sales due to the blockade. The Iranian regime has relied on tankers as floating storage, but with dwindling supplies, it faces economic challenges as oil sales constitute a major part of its budget.
