Gasoline prices have slightly decreased in some areas of Romania, while diesel prices remain stable. The cheapest gasoline is found in Cluj-Napoca at 9.99 lei/liter, while in Bucharest it costs 10.06 lei/liter. Diesel is priced at 10.86 lei/liter, with a slightly lower price in Timișoara. LPG remains the cheapest fuel option at an average of 4.7 lei/liter. However, concerns arise over a potential diesel shortage this winter, as prices have surged nearly 40% since the beginning of the year. Economists warn that Romania's diesel reserves are lower than they appear, with some stocks located abroad, leading to increased dependency on imports. A shortage could halt transportation and agricultural machinery, causing further food price hikes.
