Iran is nearing depletion of its oil reserves stored on tankers, which have allowed continued exports to China despite U.S. naval blockades. The so-called "phantom fleet" had provided a temporary solution after the U.S. began blocking maritime shipments from Iranian ports. As of early October, less than one million barrels remained in monitored maritime stocks, with reserves nearly exhausted by mid-month. The U.S. blockade has significantly impacted Iran's oil revenue, which constitutes a major part of its government income. Meanwhile, Chinese refineries are seeking alternative suppliers as Iran struggles to access international markets. Despite these challenges, Iranian officials claim the economy can withstand external pressures.
