PNL councilor Valeriu Matei and CAO director Cătălin Andronesi were targeted in a police raid related to extortion and usury. During the raid, Matei allegedly fired a hunting rifle at police but later surrendered. Both were detained for 24 hours. Investigations revealed that between November 2024 and October 2026, Matei lent money to a victim at high interest and later coerced them for further financial gain. The case is being handled by a prosecutor from the Slatina Court.
