Gazprom is ready to resume gas supplies to Europe if there is mutual interest, according to Dmitri Khandoga at the Eurasian Economic Forum. Despite this willingness, current political and technical contexts make such a move unlikely in the short term. The Yamal-Europe pipeline, which connects Russia to Germany, has been inactive since May 2022 due to payment disputes. The Turkish Stream pipeline remains operational, supplying gas to Turkey and parts of Europe. The EU is actively working to reduce dependence on Russian fossil fuels by investing in LNG terminals and diversifying supply routes.
