Romania has received the first batch of 300,000 doses of vaccines against Small Ruminant Plague and Sheep and Goat Pox, with a total of 1.1 million doses expected. Vaccination will start after all doses are received, focusing on areas with active outbreaks. The campaign is organized by ANSVSA and is free for animal owners, with the government covering all costs. The vaccination process will not affect exports of sheep and goat products, as the European Commission has approved the vaccination. This initiative aims to restore sanitary conditions and facilitate the resumption of live animal exports to non-EU countries.
