One of the two TBM machines for the construction of Metro Line 6 in Bucharest has begun tunneling between future stations Brussels and Tokyo. Named after saints, the machines are intended to enhance connectivity to Henri Coandă International Airport. The first machine, Saint Parascheva, started excavation on October 21, with a blessing ceremony held for both machines. The project aims to significantly improve public transport and mobility in the metropolitan area. Currently, construction is 78% complete on the southern section and 34% on the northern section, with a completion target set for early 2029.
