The European Court of Human Rights unanimously rejected claims from five Romanian judges regarding the non-fulfillment of court rulings for compensation related to discriminatory salary differences. The Court emphasized its role does not replace national courts and that salary interpretations are primarily the responsibility of national authorities. It noted that while the Romanian authorities faced economic constraints, they made gradual payments despite difficulties. The Court concluded that the delays in full salary payments did not violate the essence of the judges' rights and did not impose excessive burdens on them, as no claimant demonstrated significant impact on their living standards.
