During the communist era in Romania, a series of mysterious murders occurred in Poiana Brașov, involving four women. Despite extensive investigations by the authorities, including the Securitate, the true perpetrator was never identified. The case, known as "Bradul," involved significant efforts to mislead the investigation and suppress information. In total, 400 suspects were identified after checking numerous residences and individuals in the area. Various theories emerged, including drugging and hypnosis, but none led to concrete results. The lack of a free press at the time contributed to the spread of rumors surrounding the case, while the Securitate's involvement complicated the investigation further.
