The new Minister of Transport, Ștefan-Ovidiu Popa, highlighted the need for additional funding to continue infrastructure projects and address issues with railway subsidies. During a meeting with company directors, he emphasized the urgency of budget rectification to secure approximately 7.2 billion lei by year-end. A significant concern raised was the shortage of qualified personnel in various transport authorities. Popa plans to discuss these challenges with the Prime Minister and government colleagues. He also mentioned the situation at CFR Marfă, where employees had not received salaries for four months, attributing this to the absence of a Board of Directors. Regarding potential fare increases for the metro, he stated that price hikes are not currently planned, pending further analysis.
