On October 22, 2026, the Romanian National Bank reported increases in the exchange rates for major currencies. The euro rose to 5.3485 lei, while the US dollar reached 4.7640 lei. The Swiss franc and British pound also appreciated, with the franc at 5.8104 lei and the pound at 6.3851 lei. The Hungarian forint increased slightly to 1.4606 lei for 100 forints. Compared to the previous day, the euro gained 0.0188 lei, the dollar 0.0151 lei, the franc 0.0557 lei, and the pound 0.0220 lei. The forint, however, decreased by 0.0030 lei. The highest euro rate recorded was 5.3527 lei on October 6, 2026, while the lowest was 5.0914 lei on April 15, 2026.
