A 47-year-old priest from Vaslui has been arrested for sexual assault and rape of two minors, exploiting their vulnerability and trust. The alleged abuses occurred between December 2023 and August 2026, including at a social center for disadvantaged children. The priest has been suspended from religious duties by the Huși Diocese, which is distancing itself from the accusations. One victim is a 13-year-old girl, while the other was 15 at the start of the abuse period. The investigation began after the family of the younger victim reported the priest to the police, alleging he provided alcohol and assaulted her. The priest was known for his charitable work in the community, but the allegations are serious and incompatible with his clerical status.
