Romania is set to receive approximately €8.5 billion for social projects from the EU budget for 2028-2034, as announced by MEP Gabriela Firea. At least 14% of future EU funds will be allocated to social measures, focusing on vulnerable children, reducing school dropout rates, improving teachers' working conditions, and expanding access to the Erasmus+ program. Firea discussed these priorities with European Commission Vice-President Roxana Mînzatu during a meeting in Strasbourg. A recommendation on teachers' working conditions is expected on November 4, alongside a new education package that includes school alliances and digital resources. Firea emphasized the need for increased funding for the Erasmus+ program, advocating for a budget of €47 billion.
