Twenty-two individuals were hospitalized after attending a wedding at Brukenthal Palace in Avrig due to food poisoning. The investigation by the Public Health Directorate (DSP) revealed that the cheese served contained staphylococcus and E. coli. The analysis showed that the telemea cheese was likely the source of the outbreak, with mold and yeast found at the production facility. Two of the seven staff members who served food tested positive for staphylococcus. The production unit's activity has been suspended due to multiple health violations, including high microbial loads in the cheese and contamination in the water supply.
