EU member states have agreed to fund five major collaborative defense projects with €300 million, focusing on air defense and eastern flank surveillance. This decision follows a political agreement reached by ambassadors and is expected to be officially adopted at the upcoming Defense Ministers' Council meeting. The projects aim to address urgent strategic gaps in key areas such as air defense, maritime security, and drone operations. Each project will receive €60 million primarily from the European Defense Industry Program, with additional funding anticipated from the future European Competitiveness Fund. These initiatives are designed to enhance technological sovereignty and military capabilities across the EU.
