The U.S. Army's 3rd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment successfully conducted its first live-fire launch of a Tomahawk missile using the new ground-based Typhon system. This missile can strike targets over 1,600 km away, enhancing NATO operations. The test took place at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California, after five weeks of training with U.S. Navy personnel and Raytheon representatives. This capability allows U.S. forces in Europe to engage distant military targets without relying solely on aircraft or naval vessels.
