Armata israeliană deschide anchete penale interne

The Israeli army has initiated internal criminal investigations into the deaths of Palestinians in Gaza, including a six-year-old girl and humanitarian workers. One case involves Hind Rajab, who was killed during military operations in January 2024. She had contacted emergency services for help but lost contact before rescuers arrived. Another investigation concerns the deaths of 15 aid workers in March 2025. The army stated that these inquiries follow findings from an internal mechanism assessing serious incidents during military operations. However, human rights organizations criticize the effectiveness of these investigations, citing a low number of indictments and disproportionately lenient sentences for those convicted.
