Armata a plătit 14.000.000€ Uzinei de Avioane Craiova pentru modernizarea unor avioane. Nu s-a livrat nimic • Newsweek România

The Romanian Army paid 14 million euros in advance to Avioane Craiova for the modernization of aircraft, but no deliveries have been made. A report from the Court of Accounts reveals that despite the significant advance, the company has not fulfilled its contractual obligations. The contract, signed in 2020, aimed to modernize ten IAR-99 aircraft, with an initial delivery date set for September 2024. However, delays have persisted, and the Army has not received any updated aircraft. The audit highlighted the lack of justification for the advance payments and recommended better monitoring of contract execution to prevent further financial discrepancies. Avioane Craiova has faced financial losses, raising concerns about its ability to meet contractual commitments.
