Ariile protejate și hidrocentralele: Senatul menține legea contestată de Nicușor Dan

The Romanian Senate approved a law modifying protected area limits to facilitate hydroenergy projects initiated before June 29, 2007. This decision rejected the President's request for reconsideration. The law allows the central environmental authority to alter protected area boundaries for specific investment projects. Additionally, it exempts certain national security projects from environmental impact assessments. The Constitutional Court previously dismissed a challenge against this law, enabling the completion of historical energy investments. Ongoing legal disputes have hindered the progress of hydroelectric projects, such as the Răstolița facility in Mureș County.
