The National Council for the Study of Securitate Archives (CNSAS) is set to access European funds for digitizing its archives, enhancing public access to historical documents. Vice President Mădălin Hodor announced plans to request these funds during a meeting in Bucharest, part of a European network focused on secret police archives. The initiative aims to address funding challenges faced by institutions managing archives from totalitarian regimes. Hodor emphasized the importance of digital access to counter extremist narratives and promote historical accuracy. Despite previous unsuccessful funding attempts, he advocates for dedicated financial support for digitization efforts.
