In Serbia, around 30,000 pigs have died or been culled due to African swine fever outbreaks, prompting a state of emergency in several regions. The disease, which is harmless to humans but fatal to pigs, has led to significant culling efforts, including 11,000 pigs from a farm in Hrtkovci. The agriculture minister reported that the main outbreaks are in Srem, Macva, and Belgrade, affecting over 50 villages. Authorities are intensifying control measures to prevent further spread, especially in Macva, which has about 300,000 pigs. Neighboring Croatia has also faced similar issues, culling over 3,700 pigs this year.
