Romanians have the shortest commuting distance in Europe but spend an average of 53 minutes daily traveling to work. Despite covering only 17 kilometers, they rank sixth in commuting duration among 16 countries. The study highlights a mobility issue rather than distance, with many employees exceeding their preferred commuting time. In Bucharest-Ilfov, the average commute is 73 minutes for just 16 kilometers. While 48% of respondents prefer to work from home, 61% feel they have sufficient commuting options. Public transport is viewed positively by 58% in Bucharest-Ilfov, despite long commute times. The study involved 16 European countries and over 22,000 participants.
