Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced the completion of the Neptun Alpha production platform installation for the Neptun Deep gas project in the Black Sea. The platform weighs 16,500 tons and stands over 225 meters tall, with gas production expected to start in 2027. This project is crucial for Romania's energy security and aims to reduce dependency on imports. The installation involved complex operations and will be followed by further infrastructure development, including a 160 km pipeline to the shore. The project positions Romania as a significant player in the European gas market.
