In July 2026, tourist arrivals in accommodation structures increased by 6.2%, while overnight stays rose by 6.1% compared to the previous year. A total of 1.931 million arrivals were recorded, with Romanian tourists accounting for 83.7%. Overnight stays reached 4.738 million, with 86.5% from Romanian visitors. The average stay was 2.5 days for Romanians and 2 days for foreigners. However, from January to July 2026, total arrivals decreased by 1.6% to 7.487 million, with overnight stays down by 3.1% to 15.543 million. The net occupancy rate for the first seven months was 26%, a decline of 2.3 percentage points from 2025. The highest tourist arrivals were in Bucharest, Constanța, and Brașov, with significant foreign visitors from Germany, Italy, and the USA.
