Aproape 300 de persoane au fost arestate în Chile în timpul protestelor care marchează aniversarea loviturii de stat a lui Pinochet
Chilean authorities arrested nearly 300 individuals during protests commemorating victims of Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship. The demonstrations coincided with the 53rd anniversary of the 1973 coup against President Salvador Allende. For the first time since 1990, there were no official commemorations. Protesters condemned the military regime, which resulted in over 3,200 deaths or disappearances. The police responded to violence with tear gas and water cannons, leading to 284 arrests, including minors and foreigners. The protests took place at significant sites, including the General Cemetery in Santiago and La Moneda Palace, where Allende resisted the coup.
