Aproape 2.900 de decese din cauza caniculei într-o singură vară în România. Ce arată un nou raport

In Romania, nearly 2,900 deaths were linked to high temperatures in just four months of 2025, significantly surpassing road accident fatalities. The report highlights that these heat-related deaths were not officially recorded as such, despite statistical estimations indicating a strong correlation. The majority of these deaths occurred during severe heatwaves, particularly in late July. Vulnerable populations, especially those over 75, were disproportionately affected, with a notable concentration of deaths in southern counties. The report emphasizes the need for a comprehensive national heat health plan, as current measures are insufficient to address the risks posed by extreme temperatures.
