Aproape 179 de hectare din Delta Dunării ar putea deveni teren agricol / WWF România: Lucrările ar putea duce la secarea zonei recuperată cu bani europeni
Almost 179 hectares in the Danube Delta may be converted to agricultural land, pending final approval from the Ministry of Agriculture. The Tulcea County Council has provisionally approved the request, which is now in the hands of the ministry. The land is located in Crișan, within the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, and the request comes from Pedromar Trust SRL, which has been leasing part of the area since 2011. Concerns were raised about the environmental impact, as wetlands should be preserved rather than converted for agriculture. Local authorities and environmental organizations are advocating for solutions to protect the area, especially after recent flooding incidents. The final decision will require additional studies and approvals.
