The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) will start advance payments for farmers on October 16, 2026, covering up to 75% of direct payments from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) and 85% for rural development interventions from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). The advance payment campaign runs from October 16 to November 30, 2026, with full payments commencing on December 1. The reference amounts and conditions for advances are outlined in Order OMADR no. 288, dated October 9, 2026. Payments will be made in lei, using different exchange rates based on the funding source. Eligible farmers can receive advances for specific rural development measures, with actual payments processed by the Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR).
