The Danube's flow at Baziaș will remain stable at 1,400 m³/s until August 17, significantly below the August average of 3,900 m³/s. Downstream, flows will be relatively stable, with slight decreases expected in the early part of the interval. Recent rainfall has increased flows in the upper basin, particularly upstream of Budapest, but this will not affect the river's entry into Romania. Significant and stable improvements in the hydrological regime require several days of substantial rainfall across large areas, especially in the Sava basin. Climate change is expected to reduce average annual flows and increase the frequency of low flow periods.
