Apele Europei au ajuns la temperaturi fără precedent. Oamenii de știință avertizează: „Ne apropiem rapid de limitele biologice absolute”

European seas are warming to unprecedented levels due to human-induced climate change, impacting marine ecosystems and coastal communities. The Mediterranean reached an average temperature of 27°C in July, with peaks of 33°C near Mallorca. Researchers warn that these changes could lead to extreme weather events and disrupt local economies reliant on marine resources. The rising temperatures are linked to greenhouse gas emissions, with significant effects on marine biodiversity, as many species struggle to adapt. Approximately 90% of the Bay of Biscay and 80% of the western Mediterranean experienced marine heatwave conditions this year.
