The trial involving Călin Georgescu and Horațiu Potra began with a surprise appearance by former PSD deputy Laura Vicol, who represents one of the defendants. The case, which includes 21 defendants accused of actions against constitutional order, was postponed to September 28 after Georgescu requested a delay through his lawyers. Horațiu Potra and several other defendants attended the hearing, with Vicol representing Dan Cristian Panță, a key associate of Potra. Vicol, a former deputy and head of the Legal Committee, resigned in October 2024 following an investigation into the Nordis scheme, where she was implicated in criminal activities.
