In December 2026, pensioners with low to medium incomes will receive financial aid based on their pension amounts. The support, established by Emergency Ordinance no. 23/2026, will be automatically granted by pension houses without the need for applications. Those earning up to 1,500 lei monthly will receive 500 lei, while those with incomes between 1,501 and 2,000 lei will get 400 lei. Pensioners earning between 2,001 and 3,000 lei will receive 300 lei. Retroactive payments do not affect eligibility for this aid, and only pensioners residing in Romania are eligible.
