Hidroelectrica plans to invest 1.4 billion lei in energy projects this year, nearly double compared to 2025. The focus remains on the end consumer, as the company aims to enhance renewable energy capacity. Radu Constantin, CAO, highlighted the importance of integrating new megawatts into the national energy system while ensuring effective distribution. Significant contracts worth over 7 billion lei are in the pipeline for 2024-2026, including a major modernization project at Râul Mare-Retezat. The company is also exploring solar and battery projects to complement hydro capacities, emphasizing collaboration with the Ministry of Energy despite potential legislative delays.
