Starting with the 2026-2027 school year, young people over 18 can continue to receive state child allowances if they are enrolled in high school or vocational education. According to the law, this right does not cease upon turning 18 as long as they continue their studies. Young people with disabilities can also receive allowances until they turn 26, provided they are in pre-university education. To maintain their allowance, students must submit a request to their educational institution, including necessary documents such as identity proof and a certificate confirming their enrollment. Schools are responsible for reporting eligible students to the relevant authorities by October 1 each year. Over 200,000 young people received these allowances in the previous school year.
