In 2026, the business environment has worsened according to 81.4% of entrepreneurs surveyed by IMM Romania, with many expecting a decline in economic activity. A significant portion of entrepreneurs report that public policies hinder rather than help their businesses, citing high operational costs and legislative unpredictability as major issues. The majority have experienced decreased revenues and increased operational costs due to rising energy prices. Looking ahead, 53.5% anticipate a decline in economic activity, while 35.7% plan to reduce their workforce. Entrepreneurs suggest tax reductions as a potential solution to improve the situation.
