ANSVSA President Bociu: Sheep exports could resume by the end of the year

Romania aims to resume sheep exports by year-end, contingent on a national vaccination campaign starting October 1, according to ANSVSA President Alexandru Bociu. The vaccination against sheep pox and PPR is expected to take 30-45 days, with 1.3 million doses available from the EU. The campaign will be free for farmers, funded by the Romanian state, and efforts are underway to secure additional vaccines. Bociu emphasized the importance of resuming exports for the sheep sector, highlighting new markets opened in recent years. The ANSVSA is also coordinating with veterinarians to ensure adequate staffing for the vaccination process.
