Veterinary inspectors imposed fines totaling 558,700 lei during recent checks on the Romanian coast, targeting food service and product sales operators. The inspections, part of the 2026 Summer Command, covered 277 establishments, revealing numerous violations related to food safety regulations. A total of 52 penalties were issued, including activity suspensions and product confiscations. The main issues identified included poor maintenance of food processing areas, improper food handling, and inadequate labeling practices. ANSVSA plans to continue these inspections throughout the summer season to ensure public health and compliance with food safety standards.
