ANRMPSG respinge prelungirea acordului Lukoil pentru Trident

The National Authority for Mineral, Oil, and CO2 Storage Regulation rejected Lukoil's requests to extend the offshore Trident concession agreement in the Black Sea. Lukoil sought a three-year extension for an evaluation phase and a 15-year extension for the concession validity, which currently lasts until November 2041. The concession area, located 170 kilometers from the Romanian coast, is primarily owned by Lukoil, with Romgaz as a minority partner. Lukoil expressed regret over the decision and is reviewing the implications for the project, which has seen investments exceeding 700 million euros. A legislative change in 2025 may allow Romgaz to continue the project under certain conditions if Lukoil does not accept the extension.
