ANRE's Niculescu: Licensing of energy trading activities expected to be introduced from 2027
The National Energy Regulatory Authority plans to implement a licensing system for energy trading by 2027 to enhance professionalism in the sector. President George Niculescu emphasized that this initiative aims to improve accountability rather than add bureaucratic layers. He noted the expiration of numerous Technical Connection Approvals and highlighted the need for increased investment in Romania's energy distribution networks, which currently lag behind other European countries. Discussions on investment and competitiveness are ongoing at a conference organized by InvesTenergy.
