The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) approved over 412 million lei for energy suppliers under compensation schemes. This amount covers the period from May 18 to July 31, 2026, with significant validations occurring in late July. The funds will be distributed to the Ministry of Energy and the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection, aimed at supporting both residential and non-residential consumers. Despite previous concerns about delays, ANRE's president highlighted the swift validation process. However, the energy sector still faces substantial debts, with claims reaching 9.5 billion lei, of which only 40% have been settled.
