The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) imposed fines exceeding 4.8 million lei during inspections from September 28 to October 2, 2026. A total of 1,030 fines and 804 warnings were issued for various violations in product sales and service provision. Additionally, products worth over 1 million lei were temporarily removed from sale, and 15 businesses had their services suspended until issues were resolved. Inspectors found numerous health and safety violations, including spoiled food, improper storage conditions, and inadequate hygiene practices. The ANPC emphasized the importance of compliance with food safety regulations and consumer information standards.
