The National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) imposed 1,102 fines totaling over 3.98 million lei during nationwide inspections from September 7-11, 2026. Inspectors checked over 1,600 businesses, focusing on product safety and compliance with food legislation. Numerous violations were found, leading to fines and measures to protect consumers. ANPC issued 606 warnings and permanently removed non-compliant products worth approximately 115,000 lei from sale. Temporary bans were placed on products valued at around 2.55 million lei until issues were resolved. Key violations included improper labeling, hygiene issues, and unauthorized service provision.
