Meteorologists in Romania forecast a new heatwave with temperatures reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius, starting August 20. Alerts for heat and thermal discomfort have been issued for much of the country. The heatwave will intensify, with maximum temperatures generally between 34 and 39 degrees, particularly high in the west and southwest. Nights will also be tropical, with minimum temperatures ranging from 20 to 26 degrees. The heat and discomfort will be significant, with the temperature-humidity index exceeding critical levels.
