Romanian airline AnimaWings has filed for insolvency after experiencing significant financial losses despite a rise in revenue. The company reported a turnover of 330.8 million lei in 2025, but its net loss increased to 110.7 million lei from a profit of 1.9 million lei the previous year. Debts surged to 157 million lei, nearly five times higher than in 2024. Operational issues have led to the gradual suspension of Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with ongoing legal disputes and tax obligations complicating the situation. AnimaWings is currently undergoing judicial reorganization to restructure its debts and continue operations. The company had previously announced plans to attract institutional investors, but the status of this transaction remains uncertain.
