Animawings has filed for insolvency just a day after announcing the gradual withdrawal of its Airbus A220 flights. The request was registered at the Bucharest Tribunal, with no hearing date set yet. This decision follows operational measures aimed at ensuring flight continuity amid technical issues affecting the A220 aircraft. The airline currently operates two Airbus A320s and six A220-300s, but none of the A220s flew on September 30. Financial difficulties have led to legal actions against Animawings by various entities, including the Iași airport and Fraport Greece. Several flights have been canceled or delayed due to aircraft malfunctions, impacting travelers significantly. The company is working to stabilize operations and communicate updates to affected passengers.
