Angela Merkel will present her memoirs in Romania on September 1, 2024, at the Romanian Athenaeum, in a dialogue with Emil Hurezeanu. Attendees will receive a copy of her book, "Freedom: Memories 1954-2021." The event is organized by Litera and will be hosted by Ioana Bâldea Constantinescu. Merkel's memoirs reflect on her life in East and reunified Germany, her political career, and significant historical events. She served as Germany's Chancellor from 2005 to 2021, being the first woman in this role.
