Ancheta TikTok privind alegerile din România continuă după aproape doi ani. Ce verifică Comisia Europeană
The European Commission's investigation into TikTok, initiated after Romania's presidential elections in November 2024, is ongoing. It aims to determine if TikTok complied with EU regulations on electoral risk management. The inquiry was triggered by Romanian authorities' reports of potential electoral interference via online platforms. If violations of the Digital Services Act (DSA) are found, TikTok could face fines up to 6% of its global annual revenue. The investigation also considers evidence from other EU elections and focuses on TikTok's content recommendation systems and political advertising policies. The Commission has not set a deadline for the investigation's completion.
