Anchetă în Irlanda asupra reţelei sociale X, cu privire la protecția minorilor în fața conținutului pornografic și violent

The Irish media regulator has launched an investigation into the social network X to assess its measures preventing children from accessing pornographic or violent content. This inquiry is the first under the Online Safety Code established in late 2024, which mandates stricter content controls for certain video-sharing platforms based in Ireland. The regulator is concerned about the effectiveness of age verification mechanisms and parental controls on X, noting that self-declared age verification is inadequate. If found in violation, X could face fines up to 10% of its annual revenue. Additionally, X is already under investigation for not allowing users to appeal moderation decisions under the European Digital Services Act.
